Our Founder | Touko Banix

Peter Finjap, founder of Touko Banix.

Peter studied computer science at the University of Buea, in the heart of Cameroon's Silicon Mountain tech ecosystem. Touko Banix was founded in 2017 and officially opened its doors in 2020.

Building in public

  • Grew Touko Banix into an agency with offices in Cameroon, Qatar and the USA, 12+ team members and 2,000+ projects delivered.
  • Co-founded PIKUP, a tech-enabled waste management platform in Yaoundé and Douala that has helped over 3,000 customers eliminate more than 100 tons of waste.
  • Founded PIKUP Pay, a WhatsApp-native, AI-powered payment platform for African SMEs.
  • Helped Buyam grow its vendor base to over 14,000 vendors.
  • Contributed to policy and structures for the Silicon Mountain tech ecosystem through direct engagement with UNDP.
  • Lectured at university level, consulted for growing businesses and authored the book Ground Beneath Your Feet.

What drives him. Peter is strongest in sales and relationships, and he still handles PIKUP Pay sales personally, calling dozens of businesses a day.

Touko Banix exists because talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We are here to help close that gap.
